ABOUT ME

Hi. I’m Kevin Corfield.

I’m a Creative Director/Writer.

I’ve worked on big brands. Small brands. And every sized brand in between.

What do I do? I craft brand stories that can't be ignored.

I know, that sounds pompous. I get it. Sometimes I roll my eyes when I hear ad people call themselves storytellers. I mean, a Buy One Get One Free promotion isn’t exactly an edge-of-your-seat thriller. Then again, the much-talked-about 84 Lumber spot I co-created a few years back about a Hispanic mother and daughter journeying to America—that was absolutely storytelling. And the rebranding campaign my art director and I did for Lehigh Valley Health Network? It flipped the emphasis of how most networks tell their story from “we” to “you,” which helped it stand out big time.

So, yeah, I craft brand stories that can't be ignored. It’s how I get my kicks. Professionally speaking, at least.

When I’m not writing ads, I like to…wait for it…write. Yep. I find creative writing a good way to get the brain churnin’ in the morning before I get into the writing of advertising. It works for me. Short stories, journaling, whatever. I just write. Other than that, now that I’m back in SoCal, I go surfing a couple times a week—which is the most freeing feeling ever. I practice kickboxing. And of course, I read a lot. Like every good writer should.

A speed round about me? Why not.

I walk on escalators.

I dug a hole for a Jacuzzi once—for fifty bucks and pizza.

I believe Once Upon A Time in Hollywood is Tarantino’s best film.

I reject the Oxford comma.

I celebrate simplicity.

While I was working an office job at a production company, I earned a writing credit on a TBS documentary.

I return my shopping cart.

I think Jack Kerouac is overrated.

I think Cameron Crowe is underrated.

I used to crush ice for a paycheck.

I will become fluent in Spanish.

There ya have it...speed round over. But I’ll leave you with one final thought.

I’ve been crafting ads for a while. I'm what you call, "seasoned." But like many, I’m still a work in progress. Always evolving. Curiously optimistic about what’s next.
